Welcome to the Get Sad Y'all Artist Spotlight!
We'll be doing these every week, typically on Fridays, to showcase artists from around NC and beyond. If you'd like to have your band featured in an upcoming spotlight, shoot us an email.
This week, we chatted with High Shores.

Who are you?
We are High Shores, a pop/alternative band from Fayetteville, NC. We are a duo having Amanda Timothy on vocals and Kayla Wimert on drums.
Where did your band name come from?
We’ve changed the name a few times this past year, but finally stuck to “High Shores” because we really love the ocean and just the vibe it brings, so we try to bring that same vibe to our sound. Pretty much a happy place.
Who do you think your band sounds like?
We get told we sound like PVRIS, Tonight Alive, and Paramore, but personally I’m not quite sure. We are still developing as a band, so it’s hard to pin point an artist we are similar to.
What are the plans for the band over the next year?
We plan to continue releasing songs and videos throughout the year and eventually start playing out once we have a solid catalog of songs.
Pick one song in your catalog that everyone should check out.
”Breathe In, Breathe Out” is our debut single. It has a strong message behind it and I think a lot of people will enjoy/connect to it. It’s our baby for sure.
Anything else to add?
We are finishing up the music video for “Breathe In, Breathe Out,” which should be out soon. We also have our music on Spotify and of course we are on all social media platforms, so we would love to connect and talk about life.
